Description :

Lead Licensed Optician – CLAYE Vision & Surgery

CLAYE Vision & Surgery is a new independent comprehensive integrated eye care centre located at Victoria Park & Sheppard Ave East. Our clinic is being built from the ground up with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered eye care in a professional, compassionate, and collaborative environment.

With both ophthalmology and optometry on site, we are creating a true “one-stop” eye care experience that integrates medical eye care, vision services, and optical dispensing under one roof. This is not a corporate retail environment — our focus is on patient care, long-term relationships, teamwork, and attention to detail.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Licensed Optician to help establish and lead our optical dispensary. This is a serious long-term opportunity for an optician who takes pride in patient care and would enjoy helping shape the optical side of a growing independent practice. The successful candidate will have meaningful input on frame selection, dispensary organization, and the overall patient experience.

Our new optical dispensary will feature brand new equipment and a modern workspace designed to support both patient care and optical excellence. Clinic renderings and additional details about the space and vision for the practice will be available during the interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with frame and lens selection
  • Perform accurate optical measurements and fittings
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair eyewear
  • Recommend lens options based on patient lifestyle and visual needs
  • Manage day-to-day dispensary workflow and organization
  • Handle orders, follow-ups, and remakes
  • Assist with frame inventory, merchandising, and frame selection
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and patient care
  • Collaborate closely with the clinical team while working independently within the optical dispensary

Qualifications

  • Licensed Optician in Ontario
  • Prefer 3–5 years of optical store experience
  • Strong knowledge of lenses, coatings, frame styling, and troubleshooting
  • Experience in independent optical or private practice settings preferred
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized, dependable, and self-motivated
  • Passion for patient care and long-term relationship building
  • Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills are considered an asset

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Opportunity to help build a new independent optical from the beginning
  • Professional, supportive, and collaborative work environment
  • Long-term growth opportunity within a growing practice
  • Patient-first culture without corporate sales pressure
  • Opportunity to have a real voice in shaping the dispensary and optical experience
  • No evenings after 6 PM and no Sunday shifts

Position Details

  • Full-time preferred
  • Start date: approximately end of July 2026

Please submit your resume and relevant experience for consideration.
